Where you started, and where you are now

We measure your Maps visibility across a grid of 169 points spread over the Hutt Valley, checking where you rank from each one. When we kicked off on 30 July 2025 you were close to invisible on it.

Across the five services with a reliable kickoff comparison, your share of the grid in the top three went from 0.4% to 7.9%. Upper Hutt is the standout: from two points in 169 to forty-three.

A note on how we are reading this. The tracked keyword set was reset in February 2026, so the current reports compare against a baseline that already contained six months of our work. Everything on this page compares against the original July 2025 kickoff instead, which is the honest before-and-after.

The honest picture

Calls are down on the first half of the engagement, 99 across February to July against 115 across August to January, a fall of 13.9%. Direction requests are down too. Search and maps views both grew over the same period, so people are finding you more often and picking up the phone slightly less.

Four of the nine tracked services hold no top-three position anywhere on the grid, and one of those is bathroom renovations, which is among the higher-value jobs you do. That is a gap rather than a slow burn: the profile and the site do not currently give Google enough to rank you for that work.

The recent trend is the encouraging part. June and July produced 47 calls between them against 25 in April and May, July was the second strongest calendar month for search views, and the latest window set an all-time high of 391 with direction requests doubling.

Where this goes next

OpportunityWhy it matters
The services that do not rankBathroom renovations and three others have never taken a top-three spot. Those are winnable and they are the higher-value end of your work.
Deepen the Lower Hutt halfUpper Hutt is at 25.4% of the grid and Lower Hutt at 13.6%. Closing that gap is straightforward continuation work.
AI assistantsThe open goal. Your map presence has grown steadily while your presence in AI answers is close to nothing, and people are starting to ask ChatGPT for a plumber the way they used to ask Google.
And the next step: Notable. We have built our own AI search platform, Notable, and it is live. It comes with a live dashboard including AI visibility tracking, so you can see exactly where you show up in AI answers. Ben would love to walk you through it in October.
